Product Description

Teflon™ is a registered trademark of Chemours for its fluoropolymer resins. Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins are part of the family of fluorine-based products that also includes Teflon™ FEP and Teflon™ PFA and Tefzel™ fluoropolymer resins. These materials can be used to make a variety of articles having a combination of mechanical, electrical, chemical, temperature, and friction resisting properties unmatched by articles made of any other material.

Premium Features

Compared with other grades of PTFE fine powder, PTFE 62XT X is a premium resin that has increased thermal stability, superior flex life, superior stress crack resistance, low permeability and high clarity.

Processing & Applications

PTFE 62XT X is designed for processing at medium to high reduction ratios of 400:1 to 1600:1. It is particularly suitable for production of high quality tubing, spaghetti tubing and wire coating. This grade is also highly suitable for after-processing technologies such as flanging, welding, blow moulding and convoluting.

PTFE 62XT X meets ASTM D4895-10, Type I, Grade 3, Class D requirements.

Typical Applications

PTFE 62XT X is used primarily in the production of tubing installed in applications requiring the ultimate in reliability and performance. Applications are found in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries where contact with hydraulic fluid, hydrocarbon fuel or reactive gases is required. One such application is high pressure tubing in heat exchangers.
