Teflon™ is a registered trademark of Chemours for its fluoropolymer resins. Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins are part of the family of fluorine-based products that also include Teflon™ FEP and Teflon™ PFA and Tefzel™ fluoropolymer resins. These materials can be used to make a variety of articles having a combination of mechanical, electrical, chemical, temperature, and friction resisting properties unmatched by articles made of any other material.

Commercial use of these and other valuable properties combined in one material has established Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins as outstanding engineering materials for use in many industrial and military applications. Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins may also be compounded with fillers or reinforcing agents to modify their performance in use.

The design and engineering data presented in this handbook are intended to assist the design engineer in determining where and how Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins may best be used. It is recommended that the design engineer work closely with an experienced fabricator because the method of fabrication may markedly affect not only production costs, but also the properties of the finished article.

PTFE TECNOFLON PL 958 is a new generation low post cure peroxide curable fluoroelastomer. Tecnoflon® PL 958 exhibits both excellent low temperature flexibility (TR10 = -24°C) and outstanding resistance to a variety of chemicals.

As with other Tecnoflon® peroxide curable grades, it exhibits excellent processability and requires very short post-curing cycles. Tecnoflon® PL 958 is a higher viscosity version of Tecnoflon® PL 458. Please refer to Tecnoflon® PL 458 Technical data sheet for detailed chemical resistance data.
