Product Overview

KetaSpire® PEEK (polyetheretherketone) offers the best combination of fatigue resistance and chemical resistance. PEEK chemical resistance is similar to that of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide). However, PEEK can operate at higher temperatures and retains its excellent mechanical properties at continuous-use temperatures up to 240 °C (464 °F), allowing it to replace metal in severe end-use environments.

KT-880 FW30 Specific Properties

PEEK KetaSpire KT-880 FW30 is a polyetheretherketone (PEEK) compound with higher flow than KetaSpire® KT-820 SL30, making it more suitable for injection molding applications. It is designed to deliver a balance of excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance and low coefficient of friction in both dry and externally-lubricated applications.

The resin is formulated with anti-friction/anti-wear additive system comprised of carbon fiber and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The resin is black in color in its natural state.

Market Applications

These properties make it well-suited for applications in many areas, including additive manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, healthcare, oil & gas, and semicon. Specifically suited for transportation, electronics, chemical processing, and industrial uses including oil and gas exploration and production.

Performance Differentiation

Not all commercial PEEK products deliver the same level of performance. KetaSpire® PEEK offers distinct performance advantages due to Solvay's newer polymer production technology. Depending on the grade, KetaSpire® PEEK offers up to 20% higher impact strength, up to 60% higher ductility and better fatigue resistance.
